Nicole Foga is the Managing Partner of FOGA DALEY and also the Firm’s Communications, Media & Technology Partner. Her principal practice areas are Communications, Media and Information Technology. She also provides advice on commercial acquisitions and mergers involving intellectual property and technology. Nicole is frequently requested to advise on commercial investments in the Jamaican telecommunications sector and assist in developing and implementing successful lobbying strategies for new businesses.

Nicole qualified as an Attorney-at-Law in Jamaica in 1993 and holds a Master of Laws in Commercial Law from the Aberdeen University in Scotland, a Bachelor of Laws Degree as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree with First Class Honours from the University of the West Indies. She has been a Tutor and Lecturer at the University of Technology and the Norman Manley Law School, a tutor at the Law faculty of the University of the West Indies and a guest lecturer for the Mona School of Business, University of the West Indies.

Nicole Foga is an experienced negotiator in the sale, licensing and acquisition of intangible assets and securing regulatory approvals for new entrants in the telecommunication sector. She has advised on domain name protection and disputes, software development and internet and e–commerce policy and regulation.

Nicole serves as Chairman of the Telecommunications, Broadcasting and Technology Committee of the Jamaican Bar Association and is also member of the Jamaican Copyright Tribunal where she formerly served as a Deputy Chairman. She is a member of the Enforcement Committee of the Town and Country Planning Authority and a Trustee of the University of Technology Pension Fund.

She served as Director and Secretary of the Environmental Foundation of Jamaica for the past six years and was Legal Advisor to the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Technology.

Prior to establishing the Firm Nicole was the General Counsel for the Office of Utilities Regulation, Legal Advisor to the Broadcasting Commission in Jamaica and a Crown Counsel in the Attorney General’s Chambers.

She has been an invited speaker at international and regional conferences and has authored and delivered many papers on telecommunications and intellectual property in the context of digital issues.
